Hey Randall:

Yes, we know you're obsessed with atheism, but this post has nothing to do with atheism (or with KCFS, for that matter). Please try to keep your comments on topic when you visit our blog.

But why are you wasting time posting here, anyway? Cheryl and I are not atheists--we're both Christians.

Our side certainly does have an agenda, though. It's called spreading the Good News of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thankfully, we're also both teachers, so we get the opportunity to do that through our words and actions on a daily basis. I encourage you to consider whether your own words and actions demonstrate the love of Christ. From what I've read from you lately, it's kind of hard to tell that you're a Christian at all.

Since you're here, maybe I can offer you some advice:

Wouldn't your time be better spent looking out for the black helicopters? I hear they have new detectors that can instantly locate anti-atheists based on their IP addresses. Keep posting on Pharyngula and who knows what might happen to you!

Speaking of wasting time, have you ever considered using bookmarks or favorites to keep track of URLs? It seems like a huge waste of time for you to go to Google or Bing and type in the name of a website every time you want to visit it.

I mean, who does that? Well, except for you, and "Andrew", and "Winston Smith", and "Christensen's Clone", and *redacted*, and "Goldstein", and "Goldstein's Ally", and "Sethj" and "Old Coot" and "Concerned Poster" and "Albert Speer"...

Man, if I didn't know better, I'd think you were all the same person!

Cheers!

So what? Atheism and anti Christian propaganda is the real motivation of the controllers of the Kansas Citizens for Science site.

Quit pretending like your side has no agenda.

(And do all the snooping you want. None of us here give a damn anymore.)

Hmmm . . . seeing as how the boys at the Discovery Institute were crowing over the LSEA, how long will it be before they let the Livingston Parish School Board know to ix-nay on the eationism-cray? And how long before the DI even acknowledges that their pet Louisiana Legislation has succeeded in generating massive amounts of evidence for lawsuits against these school districts?

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath either.

What to do? I've long hoped we could get off oil and onto alternative energies, strictly from a national security standpoint. It's true that those alternatives need lots of work before they're feasible. Implementing more stringent conservation measures, soon, seems to be a given.

I think until we persuade people to look at the science, and stop listening to the demagogues in their echo chambers, we won't be able to get past the polarization that has replaced what used to be somewhat-civil conversation. Until we get past this spirit of no-compromise-it's-my-way-or-the-highway, a politically practical and possible solution doesn't exist by definition.

Is there time? I don't know. I don't think we can use "we're too late!" as an excuse not to act. Not unless we want our kids to fight bigger problems.

I'm not sure why Gobal Warming is something Christians, per se, would be opposed to doing something about. As Christians, we have responsibility to care for creation; this is hardly a radical concept.

But the real dispute comes in when you deal with conservatives, not necessarly Christians by any means, who dispute WHAT to do about it. Some of them see it as just a means of more government control, which the government will botch anyway. And I can't say I totally disagree with them; just look at the Gulf Oil Spill and the governments failure to act.

So, granted Global Warming, what to do about it in a politically Practical and Possible sense, and, is there Time to do anything about it?

People you say there is no proof in the creation, which for your purposes we'll call a theory. How can you say there is no proof for creation yet there is supposeably proof for evolution? If evolution is true, why are humans not being found in cages where gorilla laid the night before? Why are species not still evolving?

It certainly would be more consistent with the teachings of Christ to simply turn the other cheek and let bygones be bygones in this situation. Like you, Seth, I strive to follow the teachings of Jesus. Unfortunately, I sometimes stray from that path.

In addition, I am convinced that one must occasionally find a little humor in this never-ending conflict in order to avoid going insane.

Don't you agree?
